Vala didn’t know exactly why she loved cute shoes but she had a suspicion it was because she loved to wear them. Most of her life had been spent in leather boots. They were practical, tough, and could allow you to escape quickly on foot. However they were hardly feminine. Rarely had she been able to wear sandals or slinky heels. In her new life however, she didn’t have to be constantly ready to run away. She celebrated that fact by trying on as many sexy, spike heeled shoes as she could get her hands on when Sam introduced her to the Nordstrom shoe department. “Who says happiness can’t be bought?” Vala thought while purchasing six pairs of very expensive, excessively gorgeous pairs of shoes with Daniel’s credit card, of course.
