He hadn’t seen her smile smile for a while. The kind of smile that stretched from ear to ear, and her nose wrinkled. She hadn’t smiled like that for a long time. A very long time.

When she’d come home, he held her, close and she smiled, a soft smile that only meant thank you.

She smiled when Daniel took her to dinner, but it wasn’t that special smile.

It was when she gave birth to Adria that her smile went away. He wanted the smile back.

"I love you," Daniel whispered as Vala’s smile spread across her lips, right to her ears, her nose wrinkled and the smile that he missed so much. Her eyes sparkled and all he could think of was how much he missed that smile. Reaching up he stroked her cheek and traced her lips. "I missed your smile."
