The taste of her lips for the first time they kissed tasted different. It wasn’t exactly describable the first time he tasted her lips on his own. She tasted sweet, like sugar…no not like sugar, sweeter, he didn’t know what she tasted like. But he couldn’t complain, and wouldn’t.

Then at Halloween, she was eating a sucker, and he leaned over and kissed her, and she tasted sweet and of cherry. She just smiled when he pulled away and put the sucker back in her mouth.

Then at Christmas, he kissed her under the mistletoe, and this time she tasted different. Her same sweet taste but this time with a hint of caramel liqueur and eggnog. She just smiled in return that time and leaned into him.

New years, she tasted like champagne. She was drunk and so was he, but at the stroke of midnight, he dragged her to her feet, kissed her soundly, letting the taste linger longer than usual.

Her birthday, after giving her the present he pulled out of his coat pocket and hooked the necklace around her neck as he kissed the skin of her neck. Her head turned around and she gave him a kiss firmly on the lips. This time, she tasted like a peach

Tasting Vala was something Daniel cherished more than life. Because when he got to taste her kisses, he was able to taste the love that Vala had for him.
