And To Dance With Him One More Time
Will Make my Life
To Dance Again
Vala walked into Daniel’s office, two flutes of champagne in
her hands, and wearing shimery emerald green cocktail dress. He was sitting,
head resting in his palm reading a book. Smiling Vala walked over and set the
flutes down. "Daniel?"
"Oh hi," Daniel smiled before he looked up at the woman. "You
look….amazing."
"Thanks," Vala blushed. "You haven’t been to the party
yet."
"No, I don’t suppose I have," Daniel chuckled to himself. "I got
caught up in reading."
"I figured," ala smiled before picking up one of the flutes. "I
brought you some of this bubbly liquid."
"Champagne," Daniel smiled taking the flute. "Thank you."
Vala smiled and sipped the liquid.
The two sat in silence as they looked at each other. Daniel was the first to
speak. "You know, you really look amazing Vala."
"Thank you," Vala smiled bowing her head. "Sam said that for
parties women dress up. Especially at Christmas…"
"I haven’t been to too many parties, and I’m a little sad I missed this
one," Daniel replied softly as he reached his hand over, taking Vala’s
into his, rubbing her thumb over the top of her hand.
"We could still go," Vala smiled softly. "Most everyone has
left."
"Come on," Daniel smiled softly standing up and holding Vala’s hand
tightly. The woman smiled and allowed her body drift closer to his, as Daniel’s
hand loosened its grip and slipped around her body. His hand slid across the
green satin and rested comfortably on her hip. The heat of her skin radiated
through the fabric and tingled Daniel’s hand. Smiling to himself he let his
fingers lightly caress her hip as the two walked into the mess hall.
The room decorated for the party, Christmas to be precise. The room was decked
to the top with
Daniel looked over at Vala and then smiled as the soft voice of Martina McBride
singing filled his ears. Bringing her over by the Christmas tree, he brought
her into his arms, much to her surprise and looked at her.
"Stand on my feet," he said as Vala looked at him oddly. "We’re
going to dance."
"Okay," Vala whispered stepping out of her heals, her bare feet slid
onto Daniel’s, as he started to move slowly.
"Hey check them out," Cameron said gesturing to Daniel and Vala, arms
wrapped around each other, Vala’s head on his shoulder, and they moved slowly
around the floor.
"After ten years, this is the first Christmas Party Daniel have ever come
to," Sam remarked as she watched her friends.
"DanielJackson needed to dance with ValaMalDoran," Teal’c replied as
he moved the Santa hat ball from in front of his eyes.
Daniel held Vala close and danced until they were the only ones left in the
room, the music silent and the two feeling so incredibly close. Finally Vala
lifted her head off his shoulder and looked into his eyes.
"I didn’t know dancing was so nice," she said softly as Daniel
smiled.
"I never knew I liked dancing," Daniel whispered, leaning closer to
her mouth he was half a centimeter away from her lips. "I love it when
it’s with you."
With that the distance was closed and everything and everyone around them
didn’t matter. The taste, the touch, the feel of their lips on one another was
all that mattered. Daniel pulled away, pressing his nose to hers he
smiled.
"I like this dancing thing," she grinned softly.
"Me too," Daniel whispered back pecking her lips softly.
