CHAPTER 1

“DANIEL!!!” Vala screamed a scream that did not mask her love, or her concern as she reached for her Daniel. Holding him tightly she heard the all too formulary “Jackson” being said by Mitchell as he drew near. Vala did not look up nor did she move when Sam came to attempt to help. Vala just held Daniel, as if everything that matters in her life could slip away if she was to let go. Tears seem to form behind her eyes but she fuse to cry, she refuse to let go. “Daniel?” Vala whispered in his ear hoping that he stirs, that he would make some kind of movement. Nothing came for Daniel Jackson, no motion to verify that he was alive.

Only Sam broke the silence when she stated “He has a pulse” and after those words a fire was lit in SG1 to find out what happen to Jackson. With this reassurance the tears reside in Vala and she pulled Daniel closer, trying to completely encompass him with in her arms. Sam eventually convinced Vala that Daniel needs to rest and that they could use her help in figuring out what happen, so they both carried him to a makeshift bed out of SG1 jackets.

Vala was looking at books, mounds of books really but did not understand any of it, the words did not make sense, this very world did not make sense, her life was in torment and she wanted her Daniel, tears began to gather. Teal’c was walking over unconvincingly acting like he was searching the books but in actuality she knew that Mitchell and Sam had put him up to checking in on her. Five minutes later Teal’c was on his way out of eye range when a tablet caught Vala’s eye, the writing seemed familiar.

She raked her brain searching endlessly trying to find out where she knew this from. She was on the edge of her own memories; the rest was ones she blocked years ago. She had to; she had to search these thoughts, if for anyone for Daniel she said to herself. He was worth reliving her painful past; Vala surged onward inside her head into Qetesh’s memories. Vala knew with in minutes where she knew this writing, it was the same tablet that Qetesh hide from Athena.

Vala’s voice was heard in every corner of the room, and all of SG1 ran to her side. As soon as the audience assembled she began reading in English the tablet. “Fire has con...” Vala began but was cut off, “How are you doing that?” Mitchell asked. “This is the tablet that Qetesh had in her possession. I accessed her memories to find out how to read this, so if you don’t mind I am going to finish.” Vala’s voice emphasized how hard it is emotionally keeping a connection to Qetesh and her past. So Mitchell and Sam both said “continue” with out objection.

“Fire has consumed this soul entwine with the Sangreal.” Vala stared at the table thinking on what she had just read, when Mitchell blurred out “Great a puzzle and our solver is on his ass” and with that comment the group dispersed.

Vala was searching the wall once again for the nineteenth time, there had to be a switch or something, any thing had to give! Daniel’s life may depend on it she thought quickly to herself. She came across the Ancient Knowledge device again but as she side stepped it she noticed that a light grew more intense on the inside then died when she was out of range. An urge to step into the device over took Vala, could she, would she???

CHAPTER 2

With in seconds Vala had stepped into the device. The light swirled around her, she had the sensation of wormhole travel without the actual transfer. Letters and images flowed in a circular rotation before her eyes, then letter began making words and the images made sense. Vala grew tense feeling a force pulling at her from behind. Soon a white light grew intense; too bright to stare at forcing her to look away. Vala awoke finding herself in Teal’c arms, he explained how he tried to pull her out of the grip of the device but wasn’t successful and how she went faint minutes later. Vala understood him yet her mind was running at full capacity so the words did not register. She stood quickly realizing where she was and why she was there. With out delay she looked straight at her daughter Adria knowing everything.

Adria stared back at her mother with open eyes, wondering how much she knew and what if anything she was keeping to herself. Adria’s curiosity over took her and she forced her way into her mothers mind like she did to Daniel Jackson.

Cam, Sam, Teal’c and Baal stood still, the stares between mother and daughter could silence the living. For a long time none of them said anything, the look of determination on each of the ladies faces told the spectators that something more was taking place. Without warning Adria was shot backwards as if pulled by a force that no one could see, as she slammed into the cave wall her unconscious body fell to the floor. All members of SG1 and Baal look to Vala for answers but instead was shock to see Daniel Jackson stirring. Vala and Daniel said in unison, “We know the place of the weapon, but you must hurry!”…………

CHAPTER 3

SG1 ran from the cave having just tied Baal and the unconscious Adria to a stalagmite, knowing full well that if and when Adria wakes she would be able to break the bindings. As Cam, Sam and Teal’c ran ahead and started dialing the Stargate Daniel slowed his pace to keep in tow with Vala. Daniel realized back at the cave when they shared the same sentence that he was linked to her. Sharing the same feelings and thoughts, he was curious if Vala had the same connection with him. His question was answered right away when Vala who had a very worried face looked up from deep in thought to answer “Yes”. That was all the verbal reply Vala gave Daniel, however the swarm of emotions and images from Valas mind was overwhelming.

Within seconds the link between Daniel Vala allowed Daniel to see what Vala had been thinking about. ~She would never love me now! O’Dear god I hurt my child, pray she be ok. Please let her be alive.~ Daniel knew that Vala felt guilty that she hurt her daughter, but knew it had to be done! Vala knew Adria was inside his mind trying to pry the Ancient knowledge from him. That however did not quite the hurt that only a mother who had to discipline her child feels. Daniel decided that Vala deserved her privacy and broke the link. Daniel only offered his hand in hers as reassurance, with a nod and a grateful smile Vala squeezed back.

During the debriefing back as SGC, Landry had to interrupt Daniel and Vala who both (at the same time) went on to explain what occurred in the Cavern, not because they both were speaking at the same time but both were talking in Ancient. Which explains the eye popping stares they got from the rest of SG1 and anyone one else that caught them in conversation that day.

Vala awoke the day of the mission and something internal warned her that Adria was free from her entrapment. Before she could even get dress to notify the SGC of her hunch, Daniel came bursting into her room explaining as he went that Adria was free. When he finally realized the situation he walked into he turned completely red and swirled around to give Vala time to dress. His thoughts invade Valas head ~OMG she was naked, nothing covered her round plump breasts, her snowy white smooth skin, I mean… get a hold of your self man, you’ve seen her naked before. OMG she might be listening in on this~ As Daniel turned to steel a peak at Vala over his shoulder she just threw him the biggest smile she could manage. Daniels swift motion of hand to face told Vala Daniel was thoroughly red with embarrassment. Vala knew her intrusion was wrong so…… she waited until after she was dress to interrupt his train of thought and to break the link (what!!!........ All women love it when they receive compliments).

Slowly Daniels redden face resided as they walked down the hall conversing on each others dream and how real it was. As they entered the briefing room Landry greeted them and began their mission post report on the planet they are about to go to for the weapon.
